Fall Trip to Illinois October 28, 2007
My first Blog Post—it is a beautiful Sunday afternoon in Colorado. I got up this AM and the whole world appeared orange as this gorgeous tree in our front yard filtered light through it’s very orange leaves. Gorgeous!
We just returned from a trip to upstate Illinois, to visit Patrick’s family and my brother in Chicago. Here are some pics. Patrick’s aunts and uncles came out to have lunch with us the day before we left. It was a lively gathering, I can see where he gets his sense of humor! And height!

It was beautiful in Dixon, with the leaves having just crossed their peak leaf time. We stayed right on the edge of Lowell Park at Patrick’s cousin Kim’s house. From there, we could walk out her backyard into a park that goes down to the river, Lowell Park.
Everything was peaceful along the Rock River when we went down to Lowell Park to throw rocks in the water.

We went in to the city (Chicago) the day before we left. It was lovely. We did a little sightseeing at Millenium Park (while I went to Columbia College to check out their Book and Paper facilities—mind-blowing!). Here are some shots of the kids with their Uncle Bobby and daddy Patrick:
